BRFB Hall of Fame
View the Hall of Fame pictures below. Each Month a picture or pictures will be chosen to add to the hall of fame. You can send your pictures to me @ bigredfly@gmail.com
The picture must be about fly fishing. Any fish you catch on a fly rod spey or single hand, you may enter. Pictures of scenery while on your fishing trip are included.
Not all fish will be steelhead or salmon, as there are some great sports fish taken on a fly all over the world.
Show and tell us about yours, send in your entry with a little summary of the story behind the picture.
I would like to start off the Hall of Fame with this picture. ( Big Red )
I picked the following picture to be January;s 2007's first BRFB Hall of Fame picture.
Peter Krause took this fish on a light spey rod using a 3/0 Ruby's Rage. The picture shows the clarity of the Skeena river, Ruby's Rage still not removed, and last, the chrome colours of a spectacular fresh river run Steelhead.
These fish are a trophy not many fly fishers get a chance at. A really large Steelhead in these colours has not yet been landed on light fly gear. Even with a 15lb tippet and 250 yards of backing you are in for a fight of a lifetime. These fish with tail walk, jump, flip, cartwheel, take reel screaming, finger whacking, surging long runs, some times never to return.
Although this fish with Peter is not the largest silver bright steelhead taken to date, but truly deserves its place in the hall of fame. Nice fish Peter.
This picture of a Babine Steelhead, deserves a place in the hall of fame, a beauty for sure. I would like to thank Ken for sending in this picture. This fish is every fly fishers dream. The good looking fly fisher is Mr. Tom White. Great fish Tom.
This Chrome Hen was taken on the Skeena River by Randy. Randy was fishing with the fly, Demon Dancer. The Demon Dancer is a very productive fly.
This is a closer look at Randy's fish and the fly used. A Steelhead like this puts on a spectacular show when hooked.
This is another nice fish taken by myself ( Big Red ) on the Skeena River. The Fly again is the Demon Dancer 2/0 tied on a Bartleet Traditional Hook.by Partridge.
Watch here for pictures in the 2007 fall Steelhead season, if you have some great pictues this season send them in, we all enjoy good fish stories.
